Late 12th century

Lustre-painted stonepaste conical bowl, tapered rim, low carination, shallow indentation between wall and base, foot ring with tapered tips. Dark olive green-brown lustre colour. Complete, only a small rim flake missing. Recently restored.

Interior decoration: painted indented frame; band framed by painted horizontal stripes and decorated with reserved trilobed motifs alternating with vertical segments. Series of mounted horsemen with haloes and ornamented garments, separated by chequered cypresses, tendrils and dotted stems painted on the background. Roundel framed by a painted stripe centered on a six-petalled rosette, encircled by a radial vegetal pattern with interweaving foliate stems and cross-hatched buds flanked by addorsed birds in silhouette.

Exterior decoration: painted stripe; panels defined by pairs of vertical lines and filled with painted interlacing patterns, one thinner panel features a painted inscription.
