First half 11th c.

Transenna carved on both faces (type 9). Complete. Side A: portion of the upper epigraphic band, of the main section with figurative scene and of the lower band of rolled up scrolls. The main section shows three female dancers, with their right knee slightly bended and lifted up; the two on the right have joined hands at the height of their waists, while the one on the left holds an object (bowl?) with the left hand. The dancers wear long cloths tied at their waists with a simple or beaded belt, from which long folded ribbons depart; their head is framed by a beaded ornament; their long hair is gathered up on their left shoulders. Side B: portion of the upper epigraphic band and of the main section with a figurative scene. This shows a standing personnage with crossed arms, wearing an elaborated turban, a long cloth, a beaded belt with long ribbons; a bush with three flowers is set on the left. The personnage might be identified with a Turkish guard. Much corroded. One of the upper corner missing.
