Second half 11th c.

Upper portion of a panel with niche design. The decoration, framed by a cursive epigraphic band, is composed of a horseshoe pointed arch sustained by two columns with vegetal capitals; inside the arch is a geometrical interlace (with some Kufic words); the spandrels show a vegetal decoration and a projecting umbo-shaped feature with a geometrical pattern. Above the arch a rectangular band with a scaled pattern and two Kufic rectangular bands (one framed by a sequence of small beads). Reassembled from three fragments (including inventory no. RM0018). Much damaged.

Three fragmentary epigraphic bands (reading by R. Giunta): 1. in the outer frame; 2 in the upper band above the arch; 3 in the lower band above the arch
