Late 11th - early 13th c.

Fragment of a very thick red monochrome tile, with cut straight edges. Fine fabric, similar to the one identified for the unglazed/glazed vessels of the Ghazni pottery corpus (Fabric no. 11/25). Both coatings are very thin, especially the red wash. The front surface peeled, with the flaking of both slip and glaze. The rear surface is rough and cracked and shows parallel oblique incisions, probably made with a knife for a firmer bedding of the tile into the architectural surface. Burning traces are visible on the front surface.
