Late 12th - early 13th c.

Small fragment of a russet monochrome hexagonal tile, probably in the shape of regular hexagon. The glaze is very badly preserved, with a white alteration layer. Moulded relief decoration representing a bud (?), possibly belonging to the pattern with a central equilateral triangle from which there sprout six shoots with buds, alternately bare or with two leaves at the base. The central motif seems unframed. The pattern is rendered in very low relief. None of the tiles of the House of Lustreware was found in situ, therefore their use remains uncertain. An ongoing study conducted by A. Fusaro re-examines the topic on the basis of the archaeological data.
