Late 12th - early 13th c.

Small fragment of a green monochrome square tile, with cut straight edges. The rear surface is uneven and rough. Moulded relief decoration, the central motif cannot be identified due to the small dimensions of the item. The central motif is framed by an octagonal fillet whose sides extended so as to meet those of the nearby tiles, and form a geometrically intertwining pattern; as an alternative, it can be an octagonal fillet and an outer square frame overlapping. None of the tiles of the House of Lustreware was found in situ, therefore their use remains uncertain. An ongoing study conducted by A. Fusaro re-examines the topic on the basis of the archaeological data.
