Moulded relief decorated tile
Fired clay

Late 12th - early 13th c.

Fragment of a monochrome square tile. Information regarding the glaze colour is missing. The slip unevenly covers the surface, leaving most part of the decoration in relief and the frame unslipped; as a result, they appear darker. Moulded relief decoration representing a rampant gazelle in profile, facing the dexter side, with its forefeet in the air, showing a large tail raised. The central motif is enclosed in a beaded frame.
