Late 12th - early 13th c.

Half of a green monochrome hexagonal tile, in the shape of regular hexagon, with cut straight edges. Fine fabric, identical to the one identified for the glazed vessels of the Ghazni pottery corpus (Fabric no. 25). The surfaces in relief of the decoration as well as the frame are almost completely worn out, with no more slip or glaze. The rear surface is quite uneven and rough. The glaze on the rear surface is rough and with many burst bubbles. Moulded relief decoration representing a central equilateral triangle from which there sprout six shoots with buds, alternately bare or with two leaves at the base. The central motif is framed by/enclosed in a simple fillet. The decoration is slightly different from the most common "triangle and buds" pattern found in many tiles, because the central triangle is characterized by concave sides, while usually it has straight sides, and the buds have the flared leaves pointing downwards, while usually they are depicted pointing upwards. Considering these features, this decoration is closer to the "lozenge and buds" pattern. Similar to C3350; IG6218; IG6224; IG6312; IG6341.
