Late 12th - early 13th c.
Fragment of a brown monochrome hexagonal tile, in the shape of regular hexagon, with cut straight edges. Fine fabric, identical to the one identified for the glazed vessels of the Ghazni pottery corpus (Fabric no. 25). The rear surface is even and smooth. Two small pieces of another green glazed earthenware object remained stuck to the rear surface of the tile, probably during the firing process. Moulded relief decoration representing a rosette inscribed in a central circular medallion. The main motif occupies only the very centre of the tile, leaving the rest of the front surface bare, without any frame. Considering this feature, the tile can be compared with C3419 and IG6225. The rosette motif has been also found in other tiles, such as IG6204, but in this case the tile is unframed. Chemical analysis were carried out on the item for characterizing the glaze composition.
