Late 12th - early 13th c.

Almost complete opaque turquoise monochrome square tile, only one corner is lost. Fine fabric, identical to the one identified for the glazed vessels of the Ghazni pottery corpus (Fabric no. 25). The glaze is not properly opacified and it shows a white alteration layer. The blistering of the glaze is visible. The rear surface is uneven and rough. Moulded relief decoration representing a rampant quadruped, probably a felid, in profile, facing the dexter side, its left forefoot in the air. The animal is rendered with gaping jaws and shows a large tail raised with a vegetal end. The central motif is enclosed in a beaded frame.
