Late 12th - early 13th c.

Half of a quite thick green monochrome square tile. Fine fabric, identical to the one identified for the glazed vessels of the Ghazni pottery corpus (Fabric no. 25). The rear surface is quite even and smooth. A calcareous deposit covers the front surface. Two small pieces of other earthenware objects remained stuck to two opposite edges of the tile, probably during the firing process. Moulded relief decoration representing a central lozenge with concave sides from which there sprout alternately four trilobed leaves or trefoil palmettes and four lyre-shaped leaves/palmettes. The central motif is framed by a simple fillet. The decoration is negative, being the spaces between the motifs in relief. The relief is high and bold.
