Late 12th - early 13th c.

Complete thick small green monochrome square tile, with cut straight edges. Fine fabric, identical to the one identified for the glazed vessels of the Ghazni pottery corpus (Fabric no. 25). The surfaces in relief of the decoration as well as the frame are completely worn out, with no more slip or glaze. A small piece of another earthenware object remained stuck to one edge of the tile, probably during the firing process. The rear surface is even and smooth. Moulded relief decoration representing a central four-petalled rosette inscribed in a lozenge, with four groups of three leaves filling the triangular spaces between the polygon and the square frame. The central motif is framed by a double fillet. To date this pattern is unique, with no equal in the tiles known so far. A similar motif is visible in the tile IG6204.
