Late 12th - early 13th c.

Fragment of a green monochrome square tile, with cut straight edges. The tile is overfired, the glaze is dark and altered. The rear surface is even and smooth. Moulded relief decoration representing a running/rampant gazelle in profile, facing the dexter side, with its left forefoot in the air, its left hind foot raised, showing a large tail raised with a vegetal end. The central motif is framed by an octagonal fillet and outer square frame overlapping, the sides of the octagonal fillet extended so as to meet those of the nearby tiles, and form a geometrically intertwining pattern.
