Late 12th - early 13th c.
Almost complete green monochrome hexagonal tile, in the shape of regular hexagon, with cut straight edges. The rear surface is rough. The slip unevenly covers the front surface, leaving most of the relief decoration unslipped, as a result it appears darker. The glaze is good and glossy.
A small piece of another earthenware object remained stuck to the front surface of the tile, probably during the firing process. Moulded relief decoration representing a central equilateral triangle from which there sprout six shoots with buds, alternately bare or with two leaves at the base. The central motif is framed by a simple fillet. The decoration is slightly different from the most common "triangle and buds" pattern, because the central triangle is smaller and is characterized by concave sides and tapered tips, while usually it is larger and with straight sides, and the buds have the flared leaves pointing downwards, while usually they are depicted pointing upwards. Considering these features, this decoration is closer to the "lozenge and buds" pattern (see, for example, C3422, IG6217).
