Late 12th - early 13th c.

Small fragment of a mustard monochrome square tile, with lightly oblique edges, cut downward. The tile is made of a medium-fine ceramic body, very similar to the one identified for the glazed vessels of the Ghazni pottery corpus (Fabric no. 26, but coarser). The glaze is good and glossy. A small portion of the relief decoration peeled, with the flaking of the glaze. The rear surface is uneven and rough. Moulded relief decoration, the central motif is difficult to identify due to the small dimensions of the item. It could represent the upper part of the body of a small bird, the crest or feet of a larger bird, but also small horns or the vegetal end of a tail belonging to a quadruped. The central motif is enclosed in a beaded frame.
