Screens carved in bas relief on both sides, sometimes with a geometrical openwork decoration. Most are in the shape of a low rectangle; one is a tall rectangle. The decoration often shows figurative scenes; openwork screens are usually framed by inscribed band with benedictory or building texts.
Most artifacts were found re-employed in the Ghazni area in between 1957 and 1966, some were excavated in the Ghaznavid palace; other were first recorded in the Kabul museum and in the Rawza museum in the years between 1957 and 1966; one was purchased in Ghazni in the same years.
