Maitreya
Red clay
Very high relief; decorative plaque obtained from mould; completed by engraving

Late period

Maitreya (fragmentary) seated with right shoulder and chest exposed, right hand in varadamudra and left hand down, holding flask (kamandalu). The figure wears a short necklace with pendant, garland (presumably) and wristlets. Blackened by accidental fire.
